Shot list
(We will be attempting to film most of our film in one whole shot like the film 1917. Keep this in mind when going through the shot list as the camera will still be rolling through the different shots and angles. However, to be pre-cautious we will still be getting extra shots so that we have a lot of variety to play with in post-production.)
- Wide shot as Harry walks into the shot front on. The camera is steady and hand held.
- As Harry walks closer to the camera the shot becomes a wide shot. The camera still and steady; not moving.
- The camera starts panning and moving with Harry at that same medium shot as he continues to move forward.
- The camera stops as Harry stops and moves angles as Harry moves his head.
- Harry continues walking; the camera moves back to its original angle and follows Harry once again as he walks forward.
- The camera (still at that medium shot) moves its angle slightly off center to reveal the car that has now entered the shot.
- Once again as Harry stops as he notices the car the camera stops and so does the car. The camera is steady while Harry processes the car.
- As Harry turns around to avoid the car, the camera follows him in a panning motion. This will be a medium shot.
- As Harry begins to cross the street the camera changes angle to position itself in front of Harry at a medium shot. This medium shot is off center and reveals the driver door of the car is now open.
- The camera angle changes to reveal the abductor who has left the car and is now behind Harry.
- The now wide shot will show the brief struggle between Harry and the abductor.
- The camera at a wide shot begins panning backwards as Harry is dragged to the boot of the car.
- An establishing shot at the end shows the setting and Harry being placed in the car. Credits will start rolling after this and then fade to black.
We will go through this shot multiple times as we will need some practice. This following list goes though some of the extra shots we will need just so we have variety in post-production and just in case the one-shot idea does not go to plan.
- Wide shot of Harry walking towards camera.
- Medium shot of Harry walking.
- Medium shot of Harry and car.
- Close up shot of Harry’s expression to car.
- Low angle close up shot of wheels of car rolling in.
- Panning medium shot of Harry walking in the opposite direction of the car.
- Medium shot showing Harry front on and the car with the driver door open in the background.
- Panning medium shot revealing the abductor behind Harry.
- Medium shot showing the brief struggle between Harry and the abductor.
- Wide panning shot moving backwards as the abductor moves Harry’s unconscious body towards his car.
- An establishing shot of Harry being placed in the car.
